The 8400 Series

The 8400 Series wireless remote control systems are general controls utilizing a microprocessor designed for the remote manipulation of equipment ranging form 1 to 5 motions.  Each system comes standard with up to 46 relays which should be increased to 96 relays and is available in the frequency bands 450 - 470 MHz.  The operating range is approximately 900 feet (environment dependant).  Numerous configurations are available.

TK6 Transmitter

Control Chief's TK6 transmitter is designed to use a narrow band radio frequency.  The The TK6 transmitter is capable of communicating with either our Command Chief ™ or 8400 Series receivers.  A site license as defined by local regulations may be required.  The operating range is approximately 900 ft.  TK6 transmitters are available in various configurations.

The Communicator®

The Communicator® module communicates directly across the backplane of the SLC 500.  Each module can handle up to 32 words of scanned I/O and it is possible to install a network of multiple modules until you match of number of functions required.  Typical communication range is a few 1,000 feet to several miles.

Control Chief's Train Chief ® II locomotive wireless remote control systems are designed to provide reliable operation of locomotives from virtually any location.  Train Chief ® II puts all the hardware into one cabinet, delivering outstanding performance and flexibility in a unit that's designed for easy installation.  For maximum operator convenience there are two transmitter styles available.
